Getting started with Checkr on Wellsky
This guide describes how to set up Checkr to use within Wellsky, such that Wellsky users can initiate, view, and process Checkr background checks from within the Wellsky interface.

Order Background Checks
Once your Wellsky and Checkr accounts are connected, go to the candidate's page under the Caregivers tab. Click a candidate's name, then click Order Background Check from the options listed above the candidate's name to initiate a background check for the selected candidate.
Select Packages from the window that opens, and click Next.
Confirm the information listed for the candidate, and click Send Authorization Request to initiate the background check.
- Note: Wellsky no longer supports uploading manual authorization forms during this process. This is to ensure compliance during the authorization process, as Checkr's legal experts continuously monitor for changes in legislation and update our platform accordingly.
Once the invitation for the background check has been sent to the candidate, the status of the report will show as Authorization Pending on the Wellsky candidate's page.
- Authorization Pending means that Checkr has sent the invitation link to the candidate, but they haven't responded yet and the report hasn't begun.
Once Complete, click View in Checkr to open the report in the Checkr Dashboard. (For more information on reports and report statuses, see How do I interpret a background report in the Checkr Help Center.)
Most background checks will be completed within 24 hours, but the time to complete can range from a few minutes to a few weeks, depending on the type of check ordered, the geographic location of the candidate, and/or county courthouse operations.
Using the Checkr Dashboard
While the Wellsky integration provides two means to order background checks and view their status, through the integration or the Checkr dashboard, the following features are available only from within Checkr:
- Background check invitation links
- Full background check report results
- Begin the adverse action process
- Checkr settings
