If you use background checks for volunteers, you may be curious if you can run background checks on minors. This is not possible for a few reasons:
Minors are generally not able to legally provide consent, as persons under the age of 18 are unable to enter legally binding agreements, with few exceptions. Even with parental/guardian consent it is not advised.
The majority of criminal records for minors are sealed, making them unattainable. An exception would be in limited situations where a minor was convicted as an adult.
Minors generally are unable to obtain credit until age 18, making credit and address history unlikely to exist.
