The Home page provides a list and definition of your available Packages, with links which may be sent to your candidates, inviting them to consent to the background check process.
Use this page to review your Packages, and to invite your candidates to participate in the background check defined for each listed Package.
Note: The Home page is visible only to users with the required permissions. Work with your Admin to gain access to this page.
Live and Test environments
You may use this and all other pages in the Checkr Dashboard to switch between your Live and Test environments. Use the Live / Test buttons in the upper left corner of the page to toggle between them.
Checkr provides two environments for each new account: Live, and Test
The Test environment is provided to test API integrations. It is not designed for use by Dashboard-only customers, and will not provide test data for any actions originating within it.
If you are using the Checkr API in addition to the Dashboard, Please see Using the Test environment in our API documentation for more information on working with test accounts.
For more information, see Set up your Account in the Getting Started section of the Help Center.
Send invitation links to Candidates
Each Package listed shows the Screenings included within it, and provides a URL that may be sent to candidates to initiate the background check process. Clicking the link will direct candidates to a Checkr-hosted candidate workflow, where they will enter their personal information and be prompted to authorize the background check itself.
These links can be included on your website, in a job listing, or emailed to individual candidates. They differ from the invitations issued through the Candidates page in that they initiate a generic, Package-based background check, which does not include any Geos or Programs you may have created to customize your background check system.
For a more personalized workflow, which takes candidate and position geolocation and specific screening requirements into account, use Candidates > Invite Candidates instead.
Note: To test the links presented, copy and paste them into a web browser. If you see a Page Not Found error, your account is not authorized to invite candidates. Contact Checkr Customer Support to authorize your account.
Once your candidate enters their Personally Identifiable Information (PII), Checkr will capture and store their information, present them with the required Disclosure and Authorization forms, and add state-specific documents.
After candidates submit their information and consent to the background check, their reports will be displayed in the Candidates section of the dashboard.
IMPORTANT: Prior to using invitation links and the hosted candidate workflow, review the specific copy included on each page presented to your candidates. While Checkr provides template language designed to cover the most common background check compliance rules and regulations, by law, candidate consent is ultimately your responsibility. Work with your legal department to ensure that you maintain compliance with any laws specific to your company’s practice. If you have specific language changes you’d like incorporated into your candidate workflow, contact Checkr Customer Support.
For more information on issuing invitations to candidates, see How do I request a background check? in the Checkr Help Center, or Candidates in the Checkr Dashboard User Guide.
