Background checks keep your business safe, but not all records have the same risk. Assess helps you easily indicate which records don’t matter, minimize them, and label them as Eligible to speed up your adjudication process. You can then evaluate candidate reports faster and save time.
When you review reports, we also provide easy-to-read descriptions of records to help you feel more confident in your background check decisions.
Assess has three assessment types:

Clear
: The report returned no records.

Eligible
: The report returned no relevant records that would make the candidate ineligible for the position. You can determine which records don’t matter, label them as Eligible, and minimize them in Assess. This process helps you speed up your adjudication process by focusing on reviewing only relevant records.

Review
: The report returned at least one record that needs evaluation based on your guidelines.
Workflow
Review your assessments when they appear in the filterable Assessment column on the Candidates page.
To find reports that need your evaluation, use the filters below:
- Assessment: Review
- Adjudication: None
Assessments appear both at the report level and for each charge. The most severe assessment labels the overall report.
Assess Premium only
Assess Premium allows you to hide the records that don’t matter and label the ones that do. With Assess Premium, you can get closer to automating your evaluations. Assess Premium can label records that need heightened review as Escalated.
Escalated : The report returned at least one record that your guidelines flagged.
