Welcome to Checkr!
This guide will help current GoodHire / GetHired integration users to move off of that integration and implement the new Checkr / GetHired integration. The new Checkr / GetHired integration provides a much-improved user experience, allowing customers to select a background check package, order the check, view the ETA, and see background check results, all from within the GetHired platform!
***Note: if you are not a GetHired user but are currently integrated with GoodHire through your ATS or Onboarding platform, please use this guide as it will be applicable to you.

Prerequisites
The following items are required to initiate the Checkr integration within your ATS or Onboarding Platform. Please ensure you have the following before proceeding.
- Access to ATS Platform, with appropriate rights and / or Access to your Onboarding Platform, with appropriate rights
- Access to Checkr, with admin rights
In order to have access to Checkr, with admin rights, GoodHire customers should complete their new Checkr account setup, as outlined in email correspondences and in-app GoodHire banner notifications. Please log in to GoodHire and follow the instructions to “Join Checkr”.
Enable Checkr Setup - ATS Platform
- Login to your ATS Platform and navigate to the dashboard homepage.
- Once on the dashboard, select “Integrations” from the left navigation menu which will bring you to the designated Integrations page within your ATS Platform.
- From the Integrations page, select ‘Checkr’.
- Once ‘Checkr’ is selected, click ‘Connect’.
- Clicking ‘Connect” will launch the OAugh Sign-In process.
- Since you will have already verified your Checkr account prior, select Sign In to connect your current Checkr account to your ATS Platform.
- After completing the Sign In flow, you will be redirected back to your ATS and you will see the following message and can begin ordering background checks on candidates.
Enable Checkr Setup - Onboarding Platform
- Login to your Onboarding Platform and navigate to the dashboard homepage.
- Once on the dashboard, select “View Employees” from the left navigation menu which will bring you to a page detailing all employees going through the onboarding process.
- Once you’re viewing an employee ‘card’, you can select ‘Run Background Check’.
- After selecting ‘Run Background Check’, a module will appear informing you to ‘Connect your Checkr Account’.
- Select ‘Connect’, which will launch the OAugh Sign-In process.
- Since you will have already verified your Checkr account prior, select Sign In to connect your current Checkr account to your ATS Platform.
- After completing the flow, you will be redirected back to the Employee Card within the Onboarding platform.
- Since you Signed In to Checkr, you will be able to re-select ‘Run Background Check’ and begin ordering background checks.
Order Background Checks - ATS Platform
- Login to the ATS and navigate to the dashboard homepage.
- Once on the dashboard, select “Jobs” from the left navigation menu which will bring you to the job details page.
- Once you’ve selected the job, you will be brought to a page detailing the job as well as all of the applicants.
- Select an applicant.
- Once on the applicant, you will see an action toolbar.
- In the toolbar, click on ‘check mark’. Background Checks are also available until the profile tab > ‘Background Check’.
- Once selected, the new invitation will populate.
- Please fill out the “Invite Candidate” prompts:
- Select a country
- Select a state
- Select a city (optional)
- Select a package
- Enter email (pre-populates by candidate)
- Click ‘Submit’.
- Once submitted, you will receive confirmation that the candidate was invited to the background check.
Order Background Checks (Onboarding Platform)
- Login to the Onboarding Platform and navigate to the dashboard homepage.
- Once on the dashboard, select “View Employees” from the left navigation menu which will bring you to a page detailing all employees going through the onboarding process.
- Select an employee.
- Once you’re viewing an employee ‘card’, you can select ‘Run Background Check’.
- Once selected, the new invitation will populate.
- Please fill out the “Invite Candidate” prompts:
- Select a country
- Select a state
- Select a city (optional)
- Select a package
- Enter email (pre-populates by candidate)
- Click ‘Submit’.
- Once submitted, you will receive confirmation that the candidate was invited to the background check.
Checkr Features
Use the Checkr Dashboard
While the integration allows users to order background checks and view their status, the following features are available only within Checkr:
- Background check invitation links
- Full background check report results
- Adverse Action initiation and processing tools
- Checkr settings

Checkr’s Candidate Experience
The checkr candidate experience overview describes the Checkr candidate experience of the background check process. It includes information about the Checkr Candidate Portal and Help Center where candidates can self-serve and address common issues that can stall or delay their background checks. The overview also includes common reasons candidates contact Checkr and how to address these issues.
The overview includes:

Frequently asked questions
Can I set up the Checkr integration with my ATS / Onboarding Platform without disabling my existing GoodHire integration?
The GoodHire integration does not need to be disabled in your ATS or Onboarding Platform before the Checkr integration is activated.
Once you’ve connected Checkr, we strongly recommend disabling the GoodHire integration and moving all background check ordering to Checkr once your account is activated. By ordering background checks within Checkr, you will avoid reports being updated in GoodHire once your GoodHire access has been restricted to read-only.
How do my GoodHire locations and / or billing codes translate over to Checkr? i.e. Account Hierarchy
When migrating your GoodHire account over to Checkr, Checkr will auto-create 'Nodes' within your account. Checkr 'Nodes' are the equivalent to your previous GoodHire locations and / or billing codes.
